Funding Criteria - JACS General Fund
The application process is open to all 501(c)(3) non-profit
organizations or groups with a 501(c)(3) organization as its fiscal
agent, with special consideration given to community-based
organizations or projects with the following characteristics:
* Serving the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in Southern
California, including Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino and
Riverside Counties, with particular
emphasis on the Japanese American community
* Focus on community
service, health and human services, and leadership
development
* Arts organizations, individual artists and arts-related projects should apply to the Cecilia Nakamura Arts Fund
* In existence less
than five years
* Operating budgets less than $250,000 (excluding fiscal agent)
Groups can apply for grants funding up to $3,500. All funding decisions are made by
the Board of Trustees of JACS. All decisions are final, and there is no
appeal process.

Grant awards to be announced by June 1, 2009.
